Óh, Haigh
Is mise Kay agus is mise "Saotharlann" ar líne. Is aoibhinn liom an Ghaeilge agus déan mé léaráidí, féilirí, agus rudaí mar sin an grá seo a scaipeadh. Tá súil agam go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as mo chuid oibre.
Creating Irish content since 2014...
My journey with Irish started in 2008 while on study abroad at Ollscoil Luimnigh. It’s there I fell in love with the language – slogging through Thursday morning rain to go to a class I wasn’t even getting credit for. (It literally rained every Thursday morning and I learned to take a spare set of clothes with me so I could be dry for class!)
After a brief hiatus to finish school, I began taking classes again and, in 2014, I started collaborating on the Irish Language Learners Facebook page. That’s when Saotharlann was born.
At the time, I saw a need for fun, engaging, and informative visual learning tools. I began illustrating weekly “doodles” and, since then, I’ve created hundreds of them on topics that range from food and animals, to elections, holidays, space, and more! I now also publish a yearly calendar as Gaeilge and I’ve created cards, masks, stickers, etc.
My mission is to use my grá to inspire others to learn the language.
Cultúr Club - Conradh na Gaeilge
In the summer of 2018, Cultúr Club, under the auspices of Conradh na Gaeilge released a curriculum focused on children of the diaspora from 6-16 years of age across the globe. The curriculum includes fun activity books for children 6-16 years of age, guidelines for teachers, parents, or workshop facilitators, a database of useful resources, and pilot schemes to train local facilitators. Iwas delighted to offer my collection of illustrations, which are now also available for download at Conradh na Gaeilge's website. The website is available in English and Irish.
